this is showing signs of assertiveness.When you follow what you're supposed to do it will eventually lead you to freedom. Its obvious that being obedient leads you to freedom because nothing else says freedom like following rules and being obedient.

Being reliable is a good and positive thing to be.People will like you if they know you are reliable. You will be the person to go to when they need help with something and expect good results. You will be considered a trustworthy person and that is always a good thing. Reliability is a overall positive trait to have and everyone should learn how to be reliable.

When you take bold decisions its when you know youre right and are stepping up and taking action. It can also be facing your fears and setting them aside to do something risky or scary. To be bold one must be loud, clear, assertive and confident.

Your attitude is important and it can define who you are. If you have a nasty attitude it will make you a not so nice person but if you have a great attitude it will reflect on you and you will seem like a nice person. Attitude will overall define who you are as a person so its important to have a good attitude

The attribute for this quote is assertiveness. Thomas is stating how important it is to have a goal set in mind to try to achieve it. When you set goals you are more determined to try and achieve that. It is very important for a ship to have a rudder, metaphorically speaking, just the way a man is to his goal.
